At St Michael’s and All Angels church we offer a service to give thanks for the life of your relative or friend and for all they mean to you.
In the first instance we will come and visit you at your home and listen to your ideas and hopes. It may be that your loved one has left specific instructions and as far as we are able we will try to meet all that you ask. Anyone who lives in the parish of Beaconsfield is entitled to have a service at the church of St Michael’s and All Angels.
At St Michael’s we do not have an open church yard so any burials take place at the cemetery of your arranging. A Book of Remembrance is kept in St Michael and All Angels Church and you can arrange to have their name entered there.
Every year at All Souls time on the Sunday closest to the 1st November we have a lovely service of remembrance when we can meet to pray, sing hymns and remember specifically those who we love but see no longer. We would be glad to welcome you to that service too.
From this page you will see that we offer some ideas of Readings that others have found useful including readings from the Bible and some poems or extracts from books that you might find useful. The most important thing is to find something that either speaks about the person you are arranging the service for, or depicts something that you feel is part of what they mean to you and others.
We also offer a hymn list but it may be you would like some other hymn or other music that is important to your family. Wherever possible we are happy to accommodate your wishes, but ask that any special music be burned onto a CD, separate CDs for each track.
Finally there is a suggested outline for a service booklet for you to look at.
If you have any questions about the funeral service or, more importantly, would like to speak to someone regarding a bereavement you are undergoing please feel most welcome to contact us.
In the meantime, we pray that you will find the peace and comfort of God surrounding you at this time
A blessing for you.
May God give you
his comfort and his peace,
his light and his joy, in this world and the next;
and the blessing of God Almighty,
the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit,
be among you and remain with you always.
